Key Highlights
Apr 22nd, 2026, Bengaluru: Emversity, an employability-led skilling & recruitment platform has acquired Lanstitut Technologies Private Limited, a Kerala-based healthcare talent mobility platform.
For the last few years, Emversity has been preparing Indian supply (candidates) — nurses, physiotherapists, hospitality professionals, construction supervisors, and now data centre operations staff — for Indian demand (employers), through programmes embedded inside higher education at 25+ partner universities and through its own national network of 23 skilling centres. Lanstitut now opens up international demand destinations for the same candidate supply.
Lanstitut, founded in February 2022 in Kozhikode by four classmates from Delhi University, operates the full mobility stack — language training (A1 to B2), certification, visa processing, credentialing, relocation, and on-ground support in Germany. It has built a community of more than 4 lakh nurses across India, with over half of new admissions coming through organic and referral channels.
“For the last few years, Emversity has been building one side of the talent marketplace — Indian supply for Indian demand. What Lanstitut lets us do is open up new demand destinations for the same supply. The Indian nurse we train to Indian standards can, with the right language and credential layer, can work in Frankfurt and earn fourteen to eighteen times what the equivalent role pays at home. Khubaib, Murshid, Yasin and Abdul have built something rare — a profitable, bootstrapped, outcome-focused business. We are delighted that they will continue to lead Lanstitut as an independent business within the group.”
— Vivek Sinha, Founder & CEO, Emversity
Germany faces a structural healthcare workforce crisis. The German Federal Employment Agency reports around 35,000 registered nursing vacancies, and PwC Germany projects 1.8 million unfilled healthcare positions by 2035. India, with approximately 16,600 nurses already working in German hospitals, is the fifth-largest source of foreign nursing staff in Germany, and accounts for 32% of all Opportunity Cards issued under Germany’s points-based immigration system.

Emversity, India's leading industry-skilling network, has partnered with Cambridge University Press & Assessment to deliver specialised English language training for nursing learners through the Cambridge English for Healthcare Professionals program. Effective immediately, the program will be delivered across Emversity's skill-development centres and through its network of university partnerships. It will complement existing academic curricula, ensuring that learners gain structured, internationally benchmarked communication skills. The collaboration addresses a critical employability barrier in India's healthcare sector, equipping nursing professionals with essential communication skills required for healthcare settings both in India and internationally.
India faces a significant nursing shortage, with only 17.2 nurses per 10,000 people, contributing to an estimated 5.8 million-person gap in the healthcare workforce. While capacity is a challenge, employers often highlight communication skills as a major barrier to employability. The Cambridge English for Healthcare Professionals program addresses this gap by strengthening workplace English language competencies specifically required in clinical settings.
The training, benchmarked to international CEFR standards (A1–B1, covering beginner to intermediate proficiency), equips learners with the practical communication skills needed for patient interaction, case documentation, teamwork communication, and clarity in emergencies. It also supports learners preparing for pathways like the Occupational English Test (OET).
Vivek Sinha, Founder & CEO, Emversity, comments:
"The world faces a critical shortage of skilled healthcare talent, and India is uniquely positioned to fill this gap. Communication skills are a significant part of this talent deficit. By 2030, we aim to equip over one lakh nursing professionals with essential workplace communication competencies. Our collaboration with Cambridge University Press & Assessment is critical to building the structured pathway India's healthcare workforce needs."
Manish Kumar, Chief Technology Officer, Emversity, said:
“When we speak with hospitals and diagnostic labs, they uniformly highlight three key gaps in most healthcare and paramedical graduates: communication skills, computing skills and critical thinking. Our partnership with Cambridge directly addresses the communication component. Through this purpose-built healthcare communication training, we equip our learners with the confidence and clarity to excel in Indian healthcare and to pursue opportunities abroad.”
TK Arunachalam, Regional Director – English, South Asia, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, added:
“The specialised content from Cambridge includes both learning and assessment wrapped in a healthcare environment. This comprehensive approach provides learners with a complete solution that not only delivers focused learning but also benchmarks them against an internationally accepted CEFR scale.”
By bridging essential communication gaps, the collaboration strengthens the overall quality of healthcare skilling in India. Together, Emversity and Cambridge are embedding global communication standards within India’s allied healthcare training ecosystem and supporting the international aspirations of its workforce.
