Emversity Appoints Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava as President – Higher Education & Policy

• Prof. Srivastava is a former Vice-Chairman of the UGC (University Grants Commission). He has also served as Deputy Director at TISS.

Bengaluru, India, 1st September 2026: Emversity, a higher-education embedded training & employability platform operated by Beyond Odds Technologies Pvt. Ltd, today announced the appointment of Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava as President – Higher Education & Policy.

Emversity works with universities across India to combine academic programmes with industry-relevant skills. The platform currently supports across 40+ Higher Education campuses and over 7,000 active learners, primarily across healthcare and travel & hospitality-focused tracks. As its network expands, the company is strengthening senior leadership to deepen university partnerships, reinforce academic quality and contribute to public policy conversations on higher education and skilling.

In his new role, Prof. Srivastava will lead Emversity’s relationships with partner universities; advise on the architecture of Emversity-supported programmes and their alignment with India’s national credit and qualifications frameworks; and represent the company in public policy forums. He will also chair Emversity’s ‘Governance Council’, a Board-established body focused on regulatory compliance and governance.

Prof. Srivastava served as Vice-Chairman of the University Grants Commission from 2022 to 2025. During that period, he also held additional charge as Chairman of the Indian Council of Social Science Research. He brings more than four decades of experience in higher education and academic administration. He served as Deputy Director of the TISS; and was Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, New Delhi. His work in skilling has included engagements with the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission and the National Skill Development Corporation.
