Eligibility Criteria for TN NEET UG Counselling

Before completing the Tamil Nadu Medical Counselling Registration, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility requirements prescribed by the Selection Committee.

To participate in Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling 2026, candidates should satisfy the following conditions:

  • Qualify NEET UG 2026 by securing the minimum qualifying percentile prescribed for their category.
    1. General/EWS: 50th percentile
    2. General/EWS PwBD: 45th percentile
    3. SC/ST/OBC/MBC and respective PwBD categories: 40th percentile
  • Pass Class 12 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English from a recognised board.
  • Complete 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026.
  • Candidates applying under the State Quota must fulfil the Tamil Nadu nativity requirements and submit a valid Nativity Certificate. A Permanent Residence Certificate is not accepted as a substitute.
  • Candidates who studied Class 6 to 12 partly or entirely outside Tamil Nadu but claim Tamil Nadu nativity must submit the required nativity and supporting documents as specified in the official admission guidelines.
  • Non-native candidates are generally eligible to apply only for Management Quota or NRI Quota seats in participating private medical colleges, subject to the applicable eligibility rules.
